Square Enix Showcase Officially Unveils Platinumgames’ Babylon’s Fall

Debut

Square Enix Inc. develops, publishes, distributes and licenses a wide variety of video games in the industry, so much so that at E3 2021, it had its own showcase to present new IPs, content, updates and more for its video games. The Square Enix group of companies boasts an impressive portfolio of video games including the Final Fantasy series, Dragon Quest, Tomb Raider and more. Today, Square Enix, during its Square Enix Presents showcase, revealed an exclusive look at Babylon’s Fall, developed in partnership with Platinumgames, who developed Nier Automata, an excellent and well-loved game. Babylon’s Fall will launch on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. Currently, there is no set release date, however player testing in the closed beta is available.

In Babylon’s Fall, players become a group of warriors outfitted with special equipment called Gideon Coffins and must endure a journey to overcome the Tower of Babylon, wherein lies a great legacy. Players will be able to wield four weapons in all, with two weapons naturally usable and an extra pair coming courtesy of the Gideon Coffin. Due to the availability of four weapons, the potential combinations and variations to strategies that can be employed is endless. Babylon’s Fall visuals were done using a brushwork style to create a fantasy setting with a medieval oil painting aesthetic.

Babylon’s Fall will be hosting various closed beta tests leading to its launch that will be held over three phases, each with more content and progress being made available. The feedback and response from the beta phases will ensure that Babylon’s Fall quality is exceptional. Players can sign up for the closed beta here.
