A magnitude 4.6 earthquake struck Southern California late Friday night time, in keeping with the U.S. Geological Survey.
The earthquake hit round 11:40 p.m., about three kilometres exterior of South El Monte, close to Los Angeles, the company reported. Preliminary experiences point out it was about 18 kilometres deep.
There have been no fast experiences of harm or accidents.
Officers warned residents to be ready for attainable aftershocks.
The epicenter of Friday night time’s earthquake was near the situation of the Whittier Narrows earthquake in 1987, which was a magnitude 5.9, seismologist Lucy Jones tweeted. The Whittier Narrows earthquake killed eight folks.
