Bayonetta 3’s Release Might Be Further Off Than We Thought
While many fans were hoping to see Bayonetta 3 release sometime in 2021, it’s starting to look less likely that that will be the case. In a recent interview with VGC earlier this week, PlatinumGames co-founder, Hideki Kamiya spoke on the game’s development, PlatinumGames’ plans for the PlayStation 5, and more.
When asked about Bayonetta 3, Kamiya implied that there will be an update of some kind –an announcement or reveal– this year.
“It’s not really our position to say, but… it’s January. We’ve got to have something come out, right? I guess it’s safe to expect that something will come out. There’s still a lot of the year left is what I’m saying.”
When asked if this update would be something more substantial than just the logo we’ve seen so far, Kamiya responded with a chuckle, stating:
“I understand it’s driving the fans crazy! In light of that, my suggestion would be that maybe we should all reset and forget about Bayonetta 3. Then when something finally does happen, it will be a nice surprise, won’t it?”
Kamiya is suggesting fans forget about the game for now, which likely means it won’t be releasing anytime soon. So, don’t expect much from the game in the near future, but hopefully we will get an update in 2021.
This isn’t the first time Kamiya has commented on the game so far this year as the studio co-founder assured fans that development is going well.
“But the verification of new systems has been successful and the development is progressing smoothly, so please don’t worry.”
Assuming nothing has changed in the past few weeks, then this should still be the case. Regardless, we don’t have much information about the game as of now, so we just have to wait and see what PlatinumGames has in store for us.
