Why Is Cyberpunk 2077 Release Date Extended Again?
Firstly, kudos to the devs at CD Projekt RED to give a detailed clarification about the date extension. This is something we need more of from game developers and publishers. The new release date for the game is now set to the 10th of December which is 21 days more than the last release date extension. Now before everyone even could get disappointed with the delay the explanation put into perspective as to why the delay is happening again.
In a nutshell, the delay is happening due to the expectations and the width of Cyberpunk 2077 itself. Since the game is coming out on not just the next-gen consoles but also on the previous-gen consoles along with PC and also on Google Stadia at the same time. Cyberpunk 2077 came into the world at a time when Xbox Series X and S or even Playstation 5 was even announced and now they have to be optimized for these new consoles as well. Not only that but one has to take into account the fact that Nvidia also released its new RTX 3000 series.
Truth be told we saw the delay coming from a mile away and that is probably why many gamers are understanding the situation. Years of disappointment from big game developers releasing unoptimized and unplayable games have taught us to appreciate when a game developer takes their time before releasing a game and especially when there so much hype surrounding it.
