A New Mod Fixes Cyberpunk 2077’s NPCs
A new Cyberpunk 2077 mod known as Alternate Crowd Behavior.ini has officially released and it fixes some known NPC behaviors issues such as pathing issues, despawn/respawn issues, and how they react to Night City and the people around them. These adjustments are made through altering the ini settings, but the modders were unable to resolve an issue where NPCs disappear when scared. Cyberpunk 2077 is available right now for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Google Stadia, and PC.
The primary adjustment that modders have made to Cyberpunk 2077’s NPCs is their pathing and the bubble that surrounds each of them, as many of the NPCs at launch walked all over the place regardless of how close to another NPC they were, how close to V they were, etc. Apparently, this mod fixes their behavior in several additional ways, such as:
- Increased forward obstacle detection distance
- Increased the distance NPCs avoid the player
- Decreased safe space around each NPC to allow them to get closer to each other
- Reduced turning rate when adjusting path to avoid others
- Reduced likelihood of stopping when running into another NPC
- Increased distance at which NPCs can wait for lights
- Increased check distance for J-Walking
- Increased distance to avoid player
- Increased path planning distance
- Reduce the likelihood of NPC’s disappearing when out of view
- Increased time before despawn
- Increased maximum allowed NPCs
- Removed view-only spawning restriction
- Removed speed based spawn blocking for crowds
- Removed teleportation of NPCs to new locations
PC fans of Cyberpunk 2077 who have encountered issues with the NPCs of Night City should definitely consider downloading Alternate Crowd Behavior.ini in order to optimize their experience before the official update releases later this month or next month.
