Former Minister U.T. Khader, MLA, on Monday alleged the raids by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on State Congress president D.Ok. Shivakumar and his brother have been politically motivated.
Talking to reporters right here, Mr. Khader stated the BJP was afraid of shedding the bypolls to Shira and Rajarajeshwarinagar Meeting constituencies. Therefore, it has orchestrated raids on Mr. Shivakumar and his brother D.Ok. Suresh.
Former MLC Ivan D’Souza stated raids at completely different areas belonging to the brothers had no genuine purpose behind them. He urged Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa to order probe into the allegations in opposition to his son and kin of receiving ₹17 crore kickback. “Let the Union authorities too order a probe in opposition to the BJP authorities within the State in opposition to the alleged ₹ 2,000 crore ‘Corona rip-off’,” he stated.
In the meantime, cadres of Dakshina Kannada district models of Youth INTUC and Youth Congress staged demonstrations in entrance of the District Congress workplace protesting the raids on Mr. Shivakumar. Chiranjeevi Anchan and Mithun Rai, presidents of respective models, led the protests.
