The CBI has arrested a division supervisor of Monetary establishment of Baroda for allegedly taking bribe from a farmer for clearing his agriculture mortgage, officers talked about Friday.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) carried out searches on the residence of accused division supervisor Kiran Thakre of Parola Division, Jalgaon in Maharashtra and an agent all through which Rs 10 lakh was recovered in cash.
The CBI had charged the two for receiving a bribe of Rs 75,000 from the complainant for sanction and disbursement of agriculture mortgage of Rs 7.10 lakh to the farmer who gave a grievance to the corporate, they talked about.
“All through investigation, it was revealed that one agent (private explicit particular person) moreover allegedly demanded bribe of Rs 25,000 for processing the talked about matter. It was extra alleged that the bribe amount was later negotiated and was mounted at Rs.75,000 (Rs 50,000 for the Supervisor and Rs 25,000 for the agent),” CBI spokesperson RK Gaur talked about.
The division supervisor allegedly took a clear cheque from the farmer for clearing his mortgage, Mr Gaur talked about, terming it a “distinctive modus operandi” in bribery situations.
An amount of Rs 75,000 was withdrawn by the use of the agent.
The cheque was recovered along with mortgage file in the middle of the searches on the residence, he talked about.
