Will You Let Them Into Your Heart?
Persona 5 Strikers is almost here, unless you bought the Digital Deluxe Edition, in which case you get to play the game ahead of the rest of us, you lucky duck! That’s right, the Digital Deluxe Edition pre-order lets you play the game right now instead of waiting for February 23rd like everyone else. Pile into the catbus with the Phantom Thieves and get ready for the road trip of a lifetime. Because lives depend on it. As you can see in this fantastic and action-packed launch trailer, the Phantom Thieves are once again pitted against government corruption, police brutality, and the demons which plague humanity’s collective subconscious. But this time, each and every one of our heroes can take on a small army single-handed, and it looks awesome.
It’s time for the Phantom Thieves to save Japan once again–and this time, they’ll have at least one adult in their corner. Sort of. As the press release puts it, the kids’ vacation is interrupted when “a ruthless Kyoto detective enlists their help investigating a series of strange cases occurring across Japan… otherwise, he’ll arrest Joker. As they dig deeper into the mystery, they discover another realm where innocent people are being jailed and forced to forfeit their hearts’ desires by the whims of its ruler. In typical Phantom Thieves style, they’re going to use everything they’ve got to liberate the imprisoned, return their hearts, and strike back against the corruption in their most explosive fight yet!”
If that sounds like a good time, then by all means, check it out. It’s not too late to jump on the bandwagon–catwagon?–and tag along with this enterprising group of teenage rebels. In their first game, they fought corrupt government officials, teachers, and corporate tyrants. This second one pits them up against a whole alternate dimension of kidnapped, mind-controlled individuals. Way to up the ante, Atlus.
Persona 5 Strikers will be available on PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on February 23rd.
