Xiaomi India is all set to launch the POCO M 2 in India on September 8th. Poco is a sub-brand of Xiaomi like the Redmi line of devices. The Poco M2 will be the stripped-down version of the Poco M 2 Pro. The confirmation of the launch came via the official twitter handle of Poco India. A dedicated page for the Poco M 2 is also up on the Flipkart’s website. Not a lot is known about the new Poco M2 as of yet but if the rumours are true and the device is indeed a stripped-down version of the Poco M 2 Pro then this new device should be a budget segment oriented smartphone. There is a chance that the new Poco device that will be launching in India will come with the newly launched Snapdragon processor but there has been no official confirmation as of yet.

Though the specifications of the Poco M 2 have been kept under tight wraps, speculations and rumours can help us to get a better idea. The Poco M 2 may launch in India with the Snapdragon 732G processor. This is a recently launched processor by Qualcomm and offers a much-improved gaming performance increase as claimed by Qualcomm. Though there has been no official confirmation if the Poco M2 will be using this very chipset but a tweet from C. Manmohan General manager of Poco India claims that a Poco Smartphone will be the first-ever to use this processor. More details will come out as the launch comes nearer but if the Poco M2 does use the Snapdragon 732G then it might be an attractive proposition for many Indian smartphone buyers.

The launch of the Poco M2 is on September 8th at 12 PM IST on the official channels of Xiaomi India. The price of the smartphone remains unknown but the POCO M 2 will be sold via Flipkart as a Flipkart Exclusive.
