Xbox Live Was Down for Hours Yesterday
Xbox Live fans who wanted to get in on some competitive multiplayer action yesterday (Thursday, February 25th) were greeted by an error screen that quickly circulated social media. Xbox Live was down for several hours throughout the day, leading to many frustrated Xbox fans. This prevented Xbox fans from accessing Xbox Live, Xbox Game Pass, and the cloud gaming services. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Countless Tweets circulated Twitter throughout Thursday, showing the frustration of countless Xbox fans. While Sony fans were greeted by a State of Play that included several release dates and gameplay footage, Xbox fans were unable to enjoy their platform for almost the entire day. The outages began at 3 p.m. and several Xbox fans were reporting the same error leading into the twilight hours beyond dinner time.
While Microsoft confirmed that the Xbox Live outage was resolved by 9 p.m. on Thursday, several fans were reporting the same error code at 10 p.m. and beyond, suggesting a rolling fix rather than a blanket fix. While we were unable to play our Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S yesterday, the Sony State of Play gave us plenty of excuses to go back to our PS4/PS5 to catch up on the backlog before the release of the new titles.
