A US instructional whose work focuses on Africa and the African diaspora has said she lied about being black.
Jessica Krug, an affiliate professor at George Washington Faculty, admitted that she was really a white Jewish lady from Kansas Metropolis.
“I’ve constructed my life on a violent anti-Black lie, and I’ve lied in every breath I’ve taken,” she wrote.
Her case bears strong parallels to Rachel Dolezal, a white race activist who claimed to be black.
Ms Dolezal first made headlines in 2015 when her dad and mother outed her as white.
The earlier civil rights activist and African analysis instructor had saved up the pretence of being African American for years, nevertheless said she “acknowledged as black”.

Writing in a Medium publish revealed on Thursday, Jessica Krug said she had falsely assumed identities “that I had no right to claim: first North African Blackness, then US rooted Blackness, then Caribbean rooted Bronx Blackness”.
She described this behaviour as “the very epitome of violence, of thievery and appropriation, of the myriad strategies throughout which non-Black people proceed to utilize and abuse Black identities and cultures”, together with that she had continued the pretence even in her non-public relationships.
