New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is holding a information convention on Wednesday because the state combats clusters of coronavirus instances which might be popping up largely within the New York Metropolis space.
Cuomo stated Tuesday that 43 states and territories now meet the criteria for New York’s journey advisory record, triggering a compulsory two-week quarantine for vacationers arriving within the state from these areas.
Though neighboring Pennsylvania, Connecticut and New Jersey would even be added to the advisory because of their case counts, a quarantine requirement “isn’t virtually viable” provided that residents regularly journey between the states, Cuomo stated.
“The norm within the nation goes up. We aren’t going up the best way the norm within the nation goes up and therefore they’re quote unquote quarantined from New York.” Cuomo stated on a name with reporters.
The U.S. has reported greater than 8.27 million coronavirus instances and at the least 221,083 deaths, based on knowledge compiled by Johns Hopkins College.
