Diablo 2: Resurrected Reportedly in the Works
Vicarious Visions recently merged with Blizzard Entertainment, and they’re apparently working on an upcoming Diablo 2 Remake known as Diablo 2: Resurrected. Blizzard Team 1 was apparently the original team for the project, the Blizzard team responsible for s Warcraft 3: Reforged, but this development has apparently shifted since the Vicarious Visions merger. Diablo 3 is available right now for Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Mac.
While the Vicarious Visions team newly merged with Blizzard Entertainment is allegedly working on Diablo 2: Resurrected, Blizzard Entertainment is also working hard on the next installment in the Diablo franchise. Diablo Immortal is also still in the works and being tested by some mobile gamers who are widely enjoying the game, but no release dates for Diablo Immortal, Diablo 4, or Diablo 2: Resurrected have been confirmed.
Blizzard Entertainment has yet to confirm the existence of the rumored Diablo 2 remake, but if Vicarious Visions is the new team working on the title, it looks like it will be in good hands. Vicarious Visions is the team responsible for Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2 remakes that released on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
Vicarious Visions might have only recently merged with Blizzard Entertainment but it looks like Diablo 2: Resurrected is its next project, which is fitting given the team’s background with making quality remakes.
