Overwatch Characters Get New Look in Overwatch 2
During Blizzard Entertainment’s first annual BlizzConline, tons of news about various IP was confirmed, including some changes coming to Overwatch. Specifically, some characters in Overwatch are getting a facelift when Overwatch 2 releases. The characters in question are McCree, Pharah, Widowmaker, and Reaper and they each look a lot sleeker than they used to. Overwatch is available right now for Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Each of the new designs for the Overwatch heroes getting upgraded in Overwatch 2 is futuristic compared to their current counterparts with the exception of McCree who simply looks older. Existing Overwatch fans will still recognize these characters, but Reaper looks a little cleaner, Pharah has a lighter tone to her armor, McCree has more facial hair, and Widowmaker wears a full bodysuit while rocking a funky looking ponytail.
During BlizzConline, Overwatch 2 developers gathered for Behind the Scenes of Overwatch 2 in which hero missions, progression, enemy units, new maps, role changes, and new hero designs were all unveiled. The shiny new maps Overwatch fans will be delving into with the sequel are New York City and Rome which both present their own unique designs, layouts, etc.
