The World of Biomutant Opens Up in This Unedited Gameplay Footage | COGconnected

Watch Cute Critters Run, Jump, and Fight on Five Different Platforms

Biomutant fans, you’re in luck–Experiment 101 and THQ Nordic just released a ton of unedited gameplay footage across five different platforms. Each of these clips follows a different adorable bipedal animal on their quest to find a way into Hopehall, during which they show off a variety of walking, running, jumping, and gliding animations before getting right into the combat. And believe us, the combat is definitely worth the build-up. Biomutant has been described as Kung-Fu Panda meets Mad Max, and the over-the-top martial arts movie-style violence on display here more than lives up to that comparison. We didn’t even know we needed a Wuxia film starring a Rock Raccoon look-alike until now.

There’s a surprising amount of gunplay for a game rooted in supernatural–or at least superhuman–martial arts, but the flying bullets fit right in with the game’s gritty aesthetic. At least, as gritty as a game about cute little talking animals can get. We still want to pat every single character on the head, we’re just also pretty sure they’d take a finger off if we tried it. The PC gameplay video looks the most spectacular by far, and no wonder: since the PC version has no framerate cap except what your equipment can support, it’s showing off how the game runs at 4k and 60FPS.

The Xbox One base and PS4 base are a bit lackluster at 1080p and 30FPS with Dynamic Resolution, but it’s still a good showing. Movement is clear, the environment is striking, and the combat is still absolutely stunning. 10/10, would hug every character in the video. The landscapes are absolutely breathtaking as well, especially in their sheer size. Travelling around the world of Biomutant is going to be an amazing experience.

Finally, the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro video shows how Biomutant runs at 1080p and 60FPS, also with Dynamic Resolution. Again, it looks absolutely fantastic. We’re just waiting for someone to make a Biomutant TV Show to go with the adorable Biomutant plushie.

Biomutant will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on May 25th, 2021.
