The Student Becomes Remastered
In the first quarter of 2021, Team Ninja is planning quite a release day. In a PlayStation Blog today, they announced that there will be a quadruple-simultaneous release of Nioh games. There will be Nioh 2: The Complete Edition on PS4, Nioh Remastered: The Complete Edition on PS5, Nioh 2 Remastered: The Complete Edition on PS5, and The Nioh Collection on PS5. Perhaps the most impressive part of this is that Team Ninja managed to fit two games into a quadruple release day. If you are brand new to the series or just played one of the games, there is an option for you.
Nioh 2’s final DLC, The First Samurai, will be available in December. If you have been putting off getting Nioh 2, but will still be playing your PS4 in 2021, you should consider getting Nioh 2: The Complete Edition. This is the base game along with all its DLC in one package for PS4. Getting this also secures a free upgrade to the Remastered edition for PS5, should you choose to get one. Nioh Remastered and Nioh 2 Remastered are the PS5 versions of these games that both come with each games’ respective DLC. The Nioh Collection is both games with their DLC, all remastered for PS5.
The trailer also mentions that cross-save and save transfers will be implemented if players choose to. Whichever part of the Nioh series you want to pick up, all of the four releases above will be available on February 5th, 2021; Nioh 2: The Complete Edition on PS4 and all the rest on PS5.
Are you going to be picking any of these up next year? Let us know in the comments below.
