Team Ninja Is Working on New Things
Team Ninja Studio Head Fumihiko Yasuda recently stated that Team Ninja has multiple announcements to make in 2021. The team is also preparing for a slew of new fans with the release of remasters of the Nioh titles which are coming in 2021, adding necessary visual upgrades for new and old fans to enjoy. Yasuda didn’t actually specify when or where Team Ninja will make the new announcements in 2021, but it seems like the team is prepared. The Nioh Collection Remastered will be releasing for the PS5 in February, leaving Team Ninja fans only a couple of months left to wait.
“In February, we will release Nioh 2 Remastered: Complete Edition and The Nioh Collection—[the latter] containing everything from the Nioh series—for the PlayStation 5. I hope this can be an opportunity for people who had and had not played them to see how Nioh plays like on a new generation console. We are also preparing multiple announcements of new titles from Team Ninja in 2021, so please look forward to them!”
Team Ninja and Fumihiko Yasuda haven’t given any indication of what fans can expect from their 2021 announcements, though they have hinted at new projects rather than sequels, it would be interesting to see a sequel to Nioh with all of the potential new fans they find with the remastered collection. The Nioh collection may bring in new fans to Nioh but the fresh IP that Team Ninja is apparently working on could appeal to people who have never played a Team Ninja title, who may go back and try other titles later.
