Succession‘s season three cast continues to impress.
The Emmy-winning drama series has added Adrien Brody as the latest recurring guest star for its forthcoming season. The Oscar-winning The Pianist star will play Josh Aaronson, a billionaire activist investor who becomes pivotal in the battle for the ownership of Waystar.
Production on the pandemic-delayed season is currently underway. Here’s the official logline, courtesy of HBO: “Ambushed by his rebellious son Kendall at the end of season two, Logan Roy begins season three in a perilous position. Scrambling to secure familial, political and financial alliances, tensions rise as a bitter corporate battle threatens to turn into a family civil war.”
Brody joins Alexander Skarsgard, Sanaa Lathan, Linda Emond and Jihae, who all have recurring roles in season three. A premiere date has not yet been determined.
The casting extends Brody’s relationship with HBO, where he next stars as Pat Riley in the premium cabler’s upcoming untitled 1980s-era Lakers drama. His credits include Epix’s Chapelwaite, Netflix’s Blonde and Clean, the latter of which he wrote, scored and produced. He’s repped by CAA.
Series creator Jesse Armstrong returns as showrunner and exec produces alongside Adam McKay, Frank Rich, Kevin Messick, Jane Tranter, Mark Mylod, Tony Roche, Scott Ferguson, Jon Brown and Will Ferrell.
