Update Will Include New “Advanced Game Options” as Well
*UPDATE* Version 1.5 is now available for PC players. The full patch notes can be found online here.
Stardew Valley creator, Concerned Ape has released a bit of new information about the upcoming 1.5 update. Developer ConcernedApe, AKA Eric Barone, posted on his Twitter account a screenshot regarding new information surrounding the upcoming update, with the main highlight being the announcement of a new “Beach Farm”.
The new Beach Farm can be chosen at the start of a new game save–same as any of the previous farm archetypes added to the game. The description for the new layout is described as “Good foraging and fishing, and tons of open space. Sometimes, supple crates wash up on shore. However, sprinklers don’t work in the sandy soil.”
Unfortunately the developer has yet to upload any screenshots or videos of the farm itself. However, the description gives a pretty clear idea as to what to expect and you can view a small preview of it in the screenshot above. The new Beach Farm is one of seven potential layouts players can choose when starting their game. Other map layouts include a Standard Farm, Fishing Farm, Hilltop Farm, Wilderness Farm, Forest Farm, Riverland Farm, and Four Corners Farm.
If you’re a seasoned player thinking of starting a new farm when 1.5 comes out, I’d like to highlight a couple of new features. There will be a new farm type, “Beach Farm”, and a new “Advanced Game Options” menu, from which you can adjust some aspects of the game: pic.twitter.com/iMnw2uGLEO

The update will also add some new “Advanced Game Options”. The new options can be seen in the screenshot above as well. You can access them by pressing on the wrench icon next to the character creator. This new feature adds different options for Community Center Bundles, an option to guarantee that the bundle can be completed in year 1, new levels for Mine Rewards, and an option to spawn monsters on the farm. In the screenshot you can see that the Community Center Bundles is set to “remixed”–a new varied set of items required for completion compared to the standard experience. The option “Guarantee Year 1 Completable” can be used to ensure that the remixed bundles do not require anything that is impossible to get in the first year of gameplay.
The developer announced in October that this update will also include split-screen co-op, amongst other new additions.
Stardew Valley is available for Windows, macOS, Linux, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation Vita, iOS, and Android.
