Sony San Diego’s MLB The Show 21 is coming to Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass subscription platform on April 20th — the same day the game releases on other platforms.
Microsoft says that MLB The Show 21 will be playable through Game Pass on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Android devices through Xbox game streaming. MLB The Show 21 also features cross-platform play and progress, allowing players to switch between platforms easily.
“As we said from the beginning, this is an incredible moment for all of us and bringing the franchise to more players and baseball fans is something we we at MLB, MLB Players, Inc., and Xbox are all excited about,” MLB games vice president Jamie Leece said in a recent press release.
While it’s already surprising to see Sony’s previously PlayStation-exclusive Major League Baseball series making its way to Xbox consoles, it’s even more shocking the game is also launching on Game Pass. Microsoft’s video game subscription service now includes several sports series, including NBA 2K, Madden NFL, FIFA, NHL and Football Manager as part of EA Play and Game Pass Ultimate.
Game Pass Ultimate for both Console/PC, EA Play and an Xbox Live Gold subscription costs $16.99 CAD/month. Game Pass for Console and Game Pass for PC each cost $11.99/month. People Can Fly’s Square Enix-published looter shooter Outriders also recently launched on Game Pass.
MLB The Show 21 releases on April 20th on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
