Srinagar:
A soldier laid down his life for India after Pakistani forces opened hearth with heavy weapons like mortars in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara sectors, officers acknowledged. Two others had been injured, they acknowledged.
A defence spokesman acknowledged the Indian Navy responded to Pakistani shelling with heavy gunfire. He acknowledged the injured troopers have been admitted to a military hospital in Srinagar.
Earlier in the intervening time, Pakistani forces had moreover violated the ceasefire alongside the Line of Administration (LoC) by firing with small arms in Shahpur, Kirni and Degwar sectors in Poonch.
