2020 Sea of Thieves Was Good, 2021 Will Be Better
According to executive producer of Sea of Thieves Joe Neate, 2021 is going to be an even bigger year for Sea of Thieves fans than 2020 was. Sea of Thieves released as a wet fart in 2018, but 2020 was its best year yet, and Rare will continue to evolve the pirate simulator as it gains traction on the Xbox Series X/S. Neate even teased the Shrouded Ghost as an addition coming to Sea of Thieves in 2021. Sea of Thieves is available right now for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC and it’s also available through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
“It’s been a long year. Incredibly proud to be a part of the team at Rare and to witness how everyone has worked together to keep Sea of Thieves evolving,” said Joe Neate on his official Twitter account. “Lots to come in 2021. Will definitely be the biggest year yet. #seaoftease Might even add the Shrouded Ghost.” The most recent Sea of Thieves update brought several quality of life improvements and bug fixes to the pirate simulator on November 18th.
“We’ve been busy with more than the regular updates you’ve already experienced,” said Joe Neate in a recent blog post. “We’re hard at work behind the scenes on some significant changes that will lead us into 2021, with plans in motion for how we continue supporting the game and some major news still to come. Sea of Thieves isn’t slowing down any time soon. However, it does mean that we’ve had to slightly rethink our end-of-year updates to lay some groundwork and allow us to focus on things beyond the immediate future.”
