ROCCAT KONE Pro Air Mouse Review – Best in The Biz

ROCCAT Kone Pro Air Mouse Review

It’s safe to say I’ve become a fan of ROCCAT mice over the past couple of years. Prior to owning my first ROCCAT mouse, I burned through a slew of cruddy mice. I don’t know what it is, but I am downright abusive towards mice I use for work and gaming. Needless to say, I need a mouse that can handle some serious bumps and bruises. And that’s not all. I also need one that is wireless, responsive, comfortable, has lasting battery power, and looks sharp. It’s not much to ask, right?

I’ve been super happy with my ROCCAT Kain 200 Aimo mouse over the past year or so. It was the best mouse I had ever used. That is until I played around up the ROCCAT Kone Pro Air mouse. It’s hard to be blown away by a simple computer accessory but my-oh-my, this mouse is an absolute beauty.

I’m not going to lie, the price point gave me some pause. On Amazon, the ROCCAT Kone Pro Air will cost you around $129usd (at time of writing). This is certainly much more than I am typically willing to spend on a mouse. Without question, you can find cheaper mice on the market but there is that saying, “you pay for what you get”.

Better Than All The Rest

In this case, if you want the best, you’ll need to pay up a bit. The Kone Pro Air is quite simply the best. When it comes to its comfort, performance, features, durability, and battery power, the Pro Air is the crème of the crop.

I love the look of this mouse as well. This white Kone Pro features a solid honeycomb shell, which not only looks fantastic but it’s extremely light; weighing in at 75g. The translucent fade lights look sharp and provide the perfect showcase for AIMO lighting. It has a cool and unique design with a strong ergonomic feel. It’s a sexy-looking mouse with a size that is perfect for my hands. It is suitable for long gaming sessions and is now my go-to mouse when working from home.

My old Kain 200 Aimo mouse weighing in 105g, feels like a tank compared to the KONE. The drop to a 75g mouse feels significant. It is effortless to move around, and it really doesn’t matter what kind of surface you use. I used it on couch fabric, high-end mouse pad, and the kitchen table. The result, in all instances, was a mouse that is incredibly responsive regardless of the surface you use. Its light ergonomic design makes for a nimble little mouse that is easy to maneuver. Even the rubber scroll wheel feels great and works exactly as it should.

It goes without saying, the wireless and Bluetooth capabilities are absolutely terrific. I don’t how I’ll ever go back to a wired mouse. Hopefully, I won’t. You can switch between 2.4GHz for gaming and Bluetooth for working away on your laptop. I did get two disconnects from the wireless dongle plugged into my work laptop which seemed odd, but restarting my laptop seemed to synch it back up. It is an area I am monitoring and if it does become an ongoing issue, this review will be updated. For now, I am chalking up the issue to an older laptop that badly needs updating.

Long Lasting

This mouse has over 100+ hrs of battery life which is unreal. The Kone also features a rapid charge where you get 5 hours of playtime with just a 10-minute charge. You can also play as you charge with the USB-C PhantomFlex cable. It’s a bit of a nuisance to play or work with it plugged in, but it’s good to have options, right. But that 100-hour battery life is pretty rad and crushes most of the competition.

The buttons themselves produce satisfying clicks. Thanks in large part to the Titan Switch Optical which provides a tactile and responsive click. The click isn’t all that loud either, which is nice and won’t annoy anyone else sitting in the room.

ROCCAT MOUSE

Wireless gaming mice cannot have any input lag issues. It’s a deal-breaker. Everything needs to be absolutely precise and having speedy movements is an absolute must. Rest assured the Kone Pro is precise and speedy. Not to mention, it’s super accurate. It’s a highly responsive click that with “speed-of-light actuation” which delivers excellent speed and precision. The mouse delivers as advertised.

In addition to its excellent look and feel, the Kone boasts a ton of features with the Swarm software. You can adjust your onboard profiles, DPI settings, mouse speed and so much more. It’s all a bit too much for me, but the options will be perfect for those seasoned PC gamers.

The ROCCAT Kone Pro Air mouse is hands down the best mouse I have ever owned. Everything from its comfortable ergonomic feel to its exceptional precision, the Pro Air stands as a rock-solid purchase for anyone looking to seriously upgrade their mouse game. Whether it be long gaming sessions or working long hours on your laptop, the Kone Pro Air is an investment you’ll be happy you made.
