All checkpoints alongside Jammu-Pathankot freeway have been positioned on extreme alert and security strengthened following an incident of carjacking by unidentified armed people inside the neighbouring Punjab, a police official said at current.
The Director Fundamental of Punjab Police had sounded an alert in his state, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir after three people snatched a personal car from its proprietor after injuring him with a firearm in Dinanagar house of Gurdaspur on Friday night time.
“After receipt of communication from the Punjab DGP, all the checkpoints have been alerted and security strengthened as a security measure to deal with any situation,” the police official instructed data firm Press Perception of India.
He said the patrolling inside the areas bordering Punjab was moreover intensified by way of the night.
