Theme Park, Dream Park
It’s been forever since we have been to a theme park, right? At least since the pandemic was declared, but for some of us, even longer. It’s also been a long time since Planet Coaster came out in 2016. At the time, it was a PC exclusive. Pretty soon, console players will be able to make and run their own virtual theme park. If tycoon-esque games are your thing, you may want to check it out. If you pre-order Planet Coaster: Console Edition, you will get the exclusive the Oswald’s Magnificent Machine bonus coaster.
There are numerous updates and DLCs for the PC version of Planet Coaster, both of which add extra coasters, rides, and building items. As far as the Console Edition, it is unclear what will be included. The Deluxe Edition comes with the Magnificent Rides and Classic Rides Collections, but there are other paid DLC packs whose inclusion is unspecified. There is also paid DLC connected to Back to the Future, Knight Rider, and The Munsters, which may or may not have licensing deals that may omit the content from this edition. Again, it is unclear as to whether or not the Console Edition comes with a lot of this DLC.
If the question of DLC does not bother you, you can probably pull the trigger on this purchase. Focus more on what kind of theme park you want to make, like themed sections with pirates, aliens, cowboys, knights, or any combination. Planet Coaster: Console Edition will be available on November 10th for PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, and on November 12th for PS5. Owners of the Xbox One and PS4 versions can upgrade to the Xbox Series X and PS5 versions for free.
