Camera and Optics in OnePlus 9 Pro
The key highlight of this phone is the camera module. The quad-camera setup has been designed in collaboration with Hasselblad, a company that has captured parts of human history with its cameras. OnePlus affirmed that this collaboration is not a one-time thing. This is a clear hint about the possibility of seeing OnePlus cameras designed by Hasselblad.
The involvement of Hasselblad clearly makes it the best camera module out there. The 48-megapixel primary camera comes with an f2.2 aperture. The ultra-wide camera is a 5-megapixel shooter that reduces the ultra-wide latency of capturing an image by 99%.
The macro lens on the OnePlus 9 Pro lets you get up to 4cms close to your object. This results in stunning macro shots. However, the change is not just on the hardware front, the software has been tweaked too. The OnePlus 9 Pro camera module now comes with an orange shutter button, replicating the shutter button ion Hasselblad cameras. The shutter sound has also changed to match the shutter sound Hasselblad cameras make when a photo is taken. This has been done to keep the authenticity and DNA of Hasselblad intact.
On the video front, the OnePlus 9 Pro can capture 8K videos at 30fps and 4k videos at 120fps. The front camera of the phone is a 16-megapixel shooter and can capture amazing images.
Internal Hardware and Specifications
The OnePlus 9 Pro comes with a 6.7-inch QHD+ (1,440×3,216 pixels) Fluid Display 2.0 AMOLED display. The display is paired with low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) technology that enables the Smart 120Hz feature. This helps reduce power consumption by up to 50 percent by automatically matching the refresh rate to the current user scenario — from 1Hz for viewing photos and reading text to 24Hz for watching movies and as high as 120Hz for smooth scrolling.
The OnePlus Cool Play that is built on the heat dissipation design available on OnePlus 8T, along with a larger vapour chamber, thicker graphite sheets, and a larger copper foil over last year’s model can also benefit the gamer in you. OnePlus 9 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, coupled with 8GB and 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM.
On the storage front, OnePlus 9 Pro has 128GB and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage that doesn’t support expansion via microSD card. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, laser sensor, and a proximity sensor. There is also an in-display fingerprint sensor.
OnePlus 9 Pro packs a 4,500mAh battery that supports Warp Charge 65T and Warp Charge 50 Wireless fast charging. The Snapdragon 888 chipset is capable of delivering all the power that the phone needs, and then some more.
