Raigad, Maharashtra:
One person has died and 25 people are still feared trapped under the debris after a residential building collapsed in Maharashtra’s Raigad district on Monday. Sixty people have been rescued, officials said this morning.
Three teams of the NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) were rushed to the spot after the building collapsed last evening. The five-storey building, which was about 10 years old, had about 45 flats.
Home Minister Amit Shah, describing the Maharashtra accident as tragic, said that he has spoken to the Director General of the disaster response force to provide all possible assistance.
