Bhubaneswar:
Police have arrested a 42-year-old man from Odisha’s Cuttack district for allegedly posting hate messages in opposition to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on social media.
The accused, who belongs to Kusumbi village, was arrested by an Uttar Pradesh Police group on Thursday.
He has been booked under utterly totally different sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), along with Half 124A (Sedition), the police said.
“The Uttar Pradesh Police had sought the help of the native police in Cuttack. Our personnel extended essential cooperation to the group to nab the accused,” Superintendent of Police, Cuttack (Sadar), Jugal Kishore Banoth, suggested data firm Press Perception of India.
A case had been registered in opposition to the individual at Singhabali police station inside the northern state.
The UP Police group plans to take the individual, who runs a small enterprise in Salipur in Odisha, on transit remand, they added.
