Mumbai:
A 20-year-old cyber stalker who had saved pictures of greater than 700 teenage and pre-teen ladies allegedly for blackmail was arrested from Gujarat, officers of the Mumbai Police’s Crime Department stated at present.
The accused man, Alfaz Anwar Ali, was arrested on September 5, a day after the police acquired a criticism about Instagram accounts of younger ladies being hacked and objectionable pictures of younger ladies getting used to blackmail and sexually abuse them, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Cyber Crime) Dr Rashmi Karandikar informed NDTV.
Ali was tracked right down to Bhavnagar in Gujarat, a diamond slicing centre 170 km south of Ahmedabad.
The Mumbai Police registered a case on the Crime Department Cyber Police Station and arrested him.
Dr Karandikar stated Ali was arrested as soon as earlier than from Pune on related prices.
In response to the police officer, Ali’s questioning revealed that to entice younger ladies he used to create faux Instagram accounts utilizing a feminine identify on Instagram – a photograph and video sharing social community service – and use that to befriend ladies between 9 and 15 years of age.
He allegedly satisfied the ladies to ship their images to his faux account and he would then blackmail them utilizing morphed photographs, the cyber police stated.
The courtroom has despatched Ali to police custody until September 12.
