Criterion Games Working on NFS: Hot Pursuit Remastered
Criterion Games, Stellar Entertainment, and EA have officially revealed the heavily rumored Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered, a return to a fan-favorite title in the franchise. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered features improved particle effects, higher-resolution models, improved shadows and reflections, better anti-aliasing, and SSAO. The game will also run at a 4K resolution at 60 frames per second on PC. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered releases for Xbox One, PS4, and PC on November 6th, with a Nintendo Switch version coming out on November 13th.
While PC fans of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered will be able to run the game at 4K 60FPS, console gamers will have to settle for less. Even those running the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro hardware will have 1080p/60 FPS or 4K/30 FPS. It’ll be interesting to see whether or not a next-gen version is confirmed with the 4K 60FPS functionality of the PC available on Xbox Series X and PS5. When Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered releases for PC it will launch simultaneously for Steam and Origin, giving PC gamers their choice of which platform to play the game on.
With Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered coming to multiple consoles in addition to the PC release, Need for Speed fans can look forward to crossplay between all of the platforms when the game releases. All of the DLC content of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered will apparently add six hours of gameplay to the remaster of this racing classic title. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered will retail for $39.99 on consoles when it releases, but will only cost PC fans $29.99.
