Halo Infinite and More Make Their Way to Xbox This Year
Now that we’re a few weeks into the new year, everyone is finally done looking back on last year’s releases and focusing on what’s a head. Nintendo announced new information on next month’s Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, as well as a release date for New Pokemon Snap this week. PlayStation is still laying low on release dates but we know that God of War: Ragnarok and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart are set to release this year. Today, Microsoft uploaded a new blog post detailing all of the new titles coming exclusively to Xbox this year –or at least the ones we currently know of.
While I want to say this is a timeline of their upcoming releases, it really isn’t as almost every game is listed as a general 2021 release, with the exception of a couple of titles having a confirmed release date and one “summer 2021” release window.
The only confirmed release dates are January 28th for The Medium, and The Yakuza Remastered Collection, as well as March 25 for Yakuza 6: The Song of Life. Microsoft Flight Simulator is our Summer 2021 title, but other than that everything is unknown as of now.
Some notable titles to look forward to from this list include the long-awaited Psychonauts 2 by DoubleFine Games, the latest title by the makers of the Steamworld franchise, The Gunk, and of course, Halo Infinite, which can be seen included in the list with the following description:
“The legendary Halo series returns with the most expansive Master Chief campaign yet. When all hope is lost and humanity’s fate hangs in the balance, the Master Chief is ready to confront the most ruthless foe he’s ever faced. Begin anew and step inside the armor of humanity’s greatest hero to experience an epic adventure and finally explore the scale of the Halo ring itself. Halo Infinite is the most ambitious Halo game ever made, with an environment several times larger than the last two Halo games combined. Players can explore an expansive landscape filled with sprawling natural wonder, mystery, and a story that welcomes those new to the franchise as well as continues the Master Chief’s saga for our most dedicated fans.”
