Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond Has Wicked Multiplayer
Respawn Entertainment has officially revealed the multiplayer modes VR gamers can expect from Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond. Five multiplayer modes will be included with the package including Team Deathmatch, Mad Bomber, and Domination. Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond multiplayer also offers crossplay between Oculus and Steam, allowing the community to remain united. Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond is releasing for Oculus Rift and Valve Index VR on December 11th.
Respawn Entertainment fully lifted the curtain on Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond’s multiplayer by revealing all five multiplayer modes: Mad Bomber, Domination, Deathmatch, Blast Radius, and Team Deathmatch. Blast Radius is apparently “King of the Hill with an explosive twist” which tasks players with ruling “the ring with a rocket launcher.” Mad Bomber is apparently all about planting and defusing bombs similar to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The game will also have a lengthy campaign based in wartorn 1940’s Europe and it looks like a triumphant return for the series.
Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond’s multiplayer apparently supports up to 12 players and cross-play between Oculus and Steam. With the VR Medal of Honor title releasing next week, it’ll be interesting to see whether or not Above and Beyond’s multiplayer becomes the next big thing in the virtual reality realm. When production began on Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond, Respawn Entertainment was independent from EA, but since then the relationship between the studio and publisher has become tighter.
