See Lara Build, See Lara Climb, See Lara Floss
There are rumblings of a Tomb Raider/Fortnite crossover on the internet. There are two parts to this, both of which on their own are cryptic at best, but together might actually be onto something. The first clue that fans found was through a datamine, which held some text “reactivefemaletyphoon”. This leads dataminers to suspect a new skin will be female and have reactive skin, meaning it changes depending on certain factors like damage taken. It might be called “typhoon” or be a codeword. Tomb Raider fans think that this skin will be Lara Croft and that “typhoon” is in reference to the events of the 2013 Tomb Raider game.
Now, that datamine theory is a stretch, but last week, the Tomb Raider Twitter account tweeted out a cryptic message. It’s one of those things going around where people use symbols to imitate a though bubble and then fill it with emojis to say what they’re thinking about. It has a pickaxe, a running woman, and a bow and arrow. Again, on it’s own, you might just think, “Oh. Lara Croft. Duh.” Let’s not forget though, that the pickaxe is the handy tool of Fortnite-ers.

Are these two things unrelated? Perhaps, but with enough red yarn pulled from a conspiracy theorist’s bulletin board, you might be able to tie these together. If Lara Croft appear in Fortnite is the real deal, you can expect a more concrete leak at some point. It’s almost part of a crossover’s official announcement at this point. Fortnite is available on PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and mobile devices.
