E-commerce has been one sector that has boomed in South Africa through the pandemic.
Startup Bottles launched South Africa’s first ever on-demand alcohol supply app service in 2016.
In the course of the coronavirus lockdown the app agency expanded its companies to supply groceries as an alternative, and it noticed triple the demand and its consumer base doubled.
“Most undoubtedly, I believe coronavirus has, in simply the house of some weeks, accelerated the whole ecommerce trade in South Africa by 4-5 years not less than,” Bottles’ co-founder and chief government Vincent Viviers advised the BBC.
