Feb. 24—BUIES CREEK — Campbell closed the first half with a big run to lead big and defeated High Point University 68-48 in Big South Conference men’s basketball Tuesday at Campbell.
John-Michael Wright had 13 points and six rebounds to lead the Panthers, who trailed all but 21 seconds in the game, (8-14 overall, 6-11 conference), while Jaden House added 12 points.
Cedric Henderson had 19 points and six rebounds to lead the Camels (15-9, 11-6), who outscored High Point 25-9 over the final 10 minutes to lead 36-16 into halftime.
Campbell, which led by 29 in the final minutes, shot 53% from the field for the game, making 8 of 17 from 3-point range. The Panthers shot 35%, making 2 of 13 from behind the arc.
The teams play again tonight at 7.
