Everything You Need to Make Sure You Can Play
Cyberpunk 2077 is on the horizon. Soon we’ll be able to hold it in our hands, or at least hold our controllers in our hands while we play it, just as long as the game doesn’t get delayed again. In the meantime, we should probably take a break from watching the trailers, the music video, and Night City Wire to double-check that we’ll be able to play it. PC users especially should take care, because CD Projekt Red has released the new, updated specs required to run Cyberpunk 2077 on your computer. Take a look.

The most notable additions to the list will mostly be relevant to those who want to play the game at a high level. To meet both High and Ultra requirements, you’ll need 2GB or RAM ready to go at minimum. 16GB is what you need for Ultra settings. Then you’ll need to have an AMD Ryzen 5 CPU, though a Ryzen 3 can work for High. Those playing on High will be able to go with an RTX 2060 GPU while Ultra users will need an RTX 2080S/RTX 3070 at least. Sound reasonable to you? If not, we’re just gonna shake our heads and say ‘What did you expect from a game called cyberpunk?’
If you want to run ray tracing, the requirements get even more stringent. You’ll need power, and lots of it. We’re talking an RTX 2060. If you really want to run the game at max setting and with ray tracing, then you’ll have to somehow dig up a full-blown RTX 3080. Otherwise, you can settle for 16GB of RAM and a Ryzen 5. So if you really want to experience Night City in its full ray traced glory, a console version may be your best bet.
Cyberpunk 2077 will release on December 10th, 2020, for PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Stadia. It will also be playable on Xbox Series X|S and PS5. A free next-gen upgrade will become available for owners of the Xbox One and PS4 versions respectively at a later date.
