Claim Their Strength as Your Own
Yeah, that’s right, we’re talking about Godfall again. Can you blame us? From the gameplay teasers to the combat system to the promise of being “a tinkerer’s dream”, there’s a lot to discuss about this upcoming action RPG. Also the opening cinematic is pretty awesome. Just saying. But here’s something new to consider: Godfall may not stay a PS5 exclusive for long. The launch trailer which dropped earlier this day doesn’t just showcase a thrilling mix of in-game cutscenes, fluid gameplay, and delicious story details–it also reveals that the game will only be a console exclusive for six months. As of writing, the game will be losing this exclusivity on May 12, 2021, leaving the door open for release on other platforms.
Okay, that’s cool, but why should you be excited about it? First of all, go watch the trailer again. This game looks amazing. Second of all, what’s not to love about Godfall? The game puts you in the shoes of a Valorian Knight, one of the last of an exalted Knight’s Order, and tasks you with fighting the godlike warrior Macros. The two of you were brothers in arms once, but now he is your greatest enemy, and he will bring disaster if not stopped. Only you can save this vibrant fantasy world from his ambition. And you’ll do it wearing a ton of very cool animal-themed armor.
Godfall is a third-person fantasy looter-slasher developed by Counterplay Games, which you can play alone or online with friends (you might need an internet connection though). As a PS5 launch game, it’ll include features such as adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. We don’t know if those features will carry over to hypothetical other console releases, but we can hope! It will launch on November 12.
