Final Fantasy Producer Impressed By Ghost of Tsushima
During a recent interview, Final Fantasy XIV and XVI producer Naoki Yoshida claimed that Ghost of Tsushima inspired the team to take further leaps with the franchise. Square Enix will be looking to create new worlds, new stories, and more interesting content that may be inspired by Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Tsushima. While Final Fantasy XVI has no official release date, Final Fantasy XV is available right now for Xbox One, PS4, PC, and through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
“I would like to take even further leaps with Final Fantasy XIV in 2021,” said Naoki Yoshida during a recently translated interview with 4Gamer in Japan. “New stories, new worlds to travel to, just what type of tale awaits you? I hope you can look forward to it! Also, for Final Fantasy XVI, we plan to start announcing more information, so please pay attention to both FFXIV and FFXVI in 2021!” While we aren’t sure what to expect from new content in Final Fantasy that’s inspired by Ghost of Tsushima, we hope that it evolves the series for the better.
“Basic development and scenario production have already been completed, and we are continuing to create large-scale resources and build boss battles while expanding various development tools,” said an official Square Enix statement regarding the development of Final Fantasy XVI. “In addition, most staff work remotely.” Considering such a large project is already so far into development is stunning considering Square Enix has shown us very little about the latest installment in the long-running JRPG series.
