Galactus Puts the Epic in Epic Games’ Fortnite
Chapter 2 Season 4 of Fortnite, Nexus War, recently came to a cataclysmic close with the arrival of Galactus which led to a battle between the planet eater and the Avengers who teamed up with the Fortnite players to overcome the huge threat. This event gave players a mix of third and first-person views, great voice acting for the Marvel characters, and an on-rails shooter akin to a Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader trench run. Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 starts later today and it’s available for free on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, mobile, Mac, and PC right now.
As a result of the Galactus event, Fortnite gamers aren’t currently allowed to play their favorite battle royale due to the fact that players teamed up with the Avengers to blow Galactus up as he was trying to absorb the energy of the Zero Point located at The Ruins. Tony Stark took the countdown to Galactus’ arrival to outfit thousands of battle buses with lasers to defeat drones with and explosives to fly into the mouth of Galactus in an effort to defeat the eater of worlds.
The end of Fortnite’s Chapter 2 Season 4: Nexus War Galactus event resulted in a black screen similar to the black hole event that closed out the first chapter of the game. Thankfully for Fortnite fans, the wait time is significantly shorter, leaving them with about seven and a half hours to wait before the beginning of Chapter 2 Season 5. The official Fortnite Twitter account is teasing the new season with several cryptic text and audio messages, with some Fortnite content creators suggesting a Jurassic style season coming later today.
