Forza Horizon 5 May Release Before Forza Motorsport
During a recent episode of The Xbox Empire podcast, known industry insider Jeff Grubb suggested that Forza Horizon 5 may be coming out sooner than the already announced Forza Motorsport coming to the Xbox Series X. The upcoming Forza Motorsport is numerically the eighth in the series, but it was only announced as Forza Motorsport, suggesting a rebooting of the franchise. Forza Motorsport 7 and Forza Horizon 4 are both available through the extensive Xbox Game Pass Ultimate lineup.
“We saw Forza Motorsport get teased a few months ago,” said Jeff Grubb. “I think we might get the next Forza Horizon game first and I think that may be coming this coming year. So yeah, I think they’re in a weird situation where, for some reason, Playground does seem like they may be ready to go first (before Forza Motorsport). And I think I know the setting, but I’m going to let them announce it.” Considering the Forza franchise has split into two series’ it will be interesting to see which of the developers, Playground or Turn 10 Studios, releases their next-gen game first.
The Xbox Empire podcast team discussed the benefits of developers releasing two versions of a game on the Xbox Series X: a performance mode and an optimized visual mode. While many gamers are focused on the highest frame rate, others are more interested in insane visuals, and several developers are releasing games with performance modes on next-gen consoles to allow for both types of players to game the way they want.
