It’s Been A While
Square Enix held its Final Fantasy Festival, a two day expo, virtually this year and unveiled a ton of information to fans concerning Final Fantasy XIV along with information from its Producer and a Question and Answer segment. During the Final Fantasy Festival, an official schedule for the future of the fantasy MMORPG was unveiled. Most importantly, the fans received the best news possible as Square Enix announced that Endwalker, the game’s upcoming expansion, will launch on November 23rd and bring with it new raids, dungeons, jobs and a playable race. Owners of the Playstation 5 who were patiently awaiting the release of Final Fantasy XIV on the console will only have to wait until 25th May 2021 as the game will officially commence service on the console.
Final Fantasy XIV is currently available on Playstation 4, Mac and PC. Square Enix seeks to bring the latest version of the game over to Playstation 5 and the version will include certain features that maximize the next-gen capabilities including faster load times, 4k resolution support, High Resolution UI, new trophies, 3D Audio Support and Dualsense feedback support. In addition to the launch on Playstation 5, Square Enix announced that on 25th May, Patch 5.55 will also release, bringing with it a new host of content including Part 2 of the Death Unto Dawn main scenarios, Save The Queen updates, Triple Triad Cards rewards and YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse Epilogue quests. The Save The Queen update in particular introduces new skirmishes, duels, engagements and quests for players to enjoy.
Current owners of the game on Playstation 4 need not worry about their current progression as they can access their characters on any platform.
