Epic Games Continues to Show Why It’s Epic
Epic Games has officially acquired a large mall in North Carolina known as Cary Towne Center which will now be its Campus headquarters. The mall will be converted to Epic Games’ headquarters by 2024 and the team will be moving there from its current location nearby at Crossroads Boulevard. Epic Games’ Fortnite remains massively successful on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Android, PC, and Mac.
Cary Towne Center is 980,000-square-feet and 87-acres and Epic Games has entered an agreement to acquire the property from Turnbridge Equities and Denali Properties. Epic Games will begin moving to the new facility next year if everything goes as planned and the area will be converted to accommodate the team rather than shoppers.
“We’re extremely proud that Epic has chosen to call Cary home for their new global headquarters, and we greatly appreciate the company’s recognition of Cary’s existing assets as well as the unlimited potential of the area for their growing business,” said Cary, North Carolina Mayor Harold Weinbrecht. “We look forward to continuing to work closely and collaboratively with the Epic team as they conceptualize their new campus, and we’re honored to partner with them on this exciting new development.”
“Epic shares our vision for transforming Cary Towne Center into a vibrant community space,” said Managing Director at Turnbridge Equities Jason Davis. “This sale is further validation of our value-driven investment strategy, and the property could not be placed in better hands. After years of shifting development plans for the Center, we are thrilled the space will be utilized to its full potential and turned into something the Town and community of Cary can be proud of.”
