We’re Getting Vibes of Rufus From Grand Chase, Personally
It’s been a while since we last covered Elsword, the bright cel-shaded MMO on all those “Play your anime!” ads, which is too bad. The game has gone through a lot of updates and changes since our initial review back in 2012. Back then, Grand Chase protagonist Elesis hadn’t even made her appearance in Elsword, and now she’s a fundamental part of both the story and the gameplay. What better way to get caught up than to talk about the pre-registration event for Elsword‘s newest character, the brooding and grim reaper-inspired Noah? Yes, that’s right–the game whose playable cast includes two would-be knights, a magical girl, a self-destructive cyborg, a robot, an evil genius obsessed with the robot, an angel, a Dungeon Fighter Online cameo, and a little girl with a magic mirror now has an edgy anime boy with a scythe. We kinda love it.
Noah is a quick and mobile character who possesses “an assassin playstyle and utilizes a combination of fast mobility and the power of the shadows for swift, smooth and flashy gameplay,” according to the press release. “In addition, he will be the first character to feature a unique system allowing players to choose their Awakening Effect allowing players to change their Awakening to fit their situation.”
As if that weren’t enough reason to check him out, Elsword is offering some awesome freebies to anyone who makes a Noah after pre-registering during the event. The “Gift From the Moon – Full Moon” item will be custom-tailored for Noah characters, featuring goodies like an exclusive character animation, EXP boost medals, and fancy accessories. Everything you need to make your sad moon boy into the lunar avenger of grim resolve known as the Liberator. Here’s a Korean trailer (no subtitles, sorry) showing off Noah’s entire first class tree. It’s so delightfully over the top!
The Pre-Registration event will run from December 30th, 2020, to January, 11th 2021. Noah will arrive in Elsword on January 13th, 2020.
