#HaulingHope
Here’s some wholesome news for your Saturday. There is an in-game event for American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2, which I assume is the same, but on the left-hand side. As COVID-19 vaccine distribution rolls out in real life, SCS Software is taking the opportunity to mirror that operation in their games. From now until February 7th, players in American or Euro Truck Simulator will be able to deliver COVID-19 vaccines in their games for an achievement and a special cabin item. Hopefully, you can also remind yourself and your friends that the trucking community has been working tirelessly to keep the chain of supply running around the world.
During this #HaulingHope campaign, players can haul “fragile and special cargo”. Doing seven or more of these deliveries will earn you a Hope Trucker Insignia to hang in your cabin, as well as a World of Trucks Achievement. You won’t be able to do this just messing around though. This cargo has a “zero damage tolerance”, so no sweet jumps or stunts this time. This is a vaccine after all.
The #HaulingHope campaign is the second in-game event related to the pandemic in these games. Back in March, SCS Software also urged players to take part in a #TruckAtHome event. The purpose of this event was to A) keep people occupied at home to stop the spread of the virus, and B) help raise money for COVID-19 relief. For every 20,000,000 km of deliveries, SCS Software released a batch of game codes for American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2, but they also contributed to combating COVID-19. By the end of the event, over 1,200 Steam keys were released and over €15,000 was donated. American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2 are available on PC.
