Remedy Entertainment Celebrates a Very Successful Month for Control
Despite being the source of some controversy with Control Ultimate Edition, Remedy Entertainment celebrated Control’s most successful month to date in November. Control launched way back in August of last year, but somehow fifteen months later, it has celebrated its greatest sales success in the month of November. Control sold over 2 million dollars to break their previous milestone, likely attributable to the launch of Xbox Series X/S and PS5. Control is available right now for Xbox One, PS4, PC, through Xbox Game Pass, and a next-gen upgrade is on the way in 2021.
Remedy Entertainment’s communications director Thomas Puha recently tweeted the sales figures for Control in the month of November to celebrate its success, saying “my boss just revealed in the Remedy Games CMD stream that the past November was Control’s best selling month (15 months after launch). In total, Control has sold over 2 million copies to date.” While some folks might have not taken a liking to the Control Ultimate Edition news ahead of its release, the sales show that gamers weren’t as miffed as Remedy may have planned for.
The Ultimate Edition of Control launched in September 2020, though it took fans a while to get their hands on next-gen consoles. To this day, many gamers anticipate the day they can get their hands on an Xbox Series X or PS5. While the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S version of Control doesn’t come out until 2021, it looks like many gamers who got their hands on an Xbox Series X or PS5 already purchased the upgrade ahead of its release. It’ll be interesting to see if the full next-gen release is able to top this November’s Control sales.
