PUBG Mobile has been banned by the Indian government and now there are not a lot of choices left as well. The press release issued by the Indian Government stated that PUBG Mobile, PUBG Mobile Lite along with all of Netease games. Almost all of the mobile battle royals have been removed with the exception of Garena Free Fire and Call of Duty Mobile. Now that there are no options left for Indian players except these two games. Both these games are famous battle royals in India but not as big as PUBG Mobile was but now since PUBG is off the table it is time that we take a relook at them again.
PUBG Mobile Ban: Garena Free Fire Review:
Now with the PUBG Mobile ban, we are taking a relook at Garena Free Fire. Garena is a Singapore based game developer that made the mobile battle royal called Free Fire. For the most part, the inspiration behind this game was PUBG and it shows. Though Garena Free Fire is not the same game as PUBG Mobile. While PUBG Mobile is based on the Unreal 4 game engine, Free Fire is based on the Unity game engine. The main difference in both games comes in the gameplay itself. Garena Free Fire as said by players of PUBG Mobile is very unrealistic in its graphics and animations. That is due to the fact that Free Fire runs on the Unity game engine which creates the environment in a very different fashion.
When it comes to the gameplay itself, Garena Free Fire is quite like PUBG Mobile. There are different maps based on different environments. Multiple game modes are also available and a good amount of players from India are already on Free Fire. Also, Garena Free Fire is probably the only mobile battle royal in India that has made aggressive efforts to get more Indian players with their ad campaign called #IndiaKaBattleRoyal and also introducing Hrithik Roshan an Indian Bollywood actor as a playable character called Jai in the game.
PUBG Mobile Ban: Call of Duty Mobile Review
Call of Duty Mobile is the other option that many former PUBG Mobile players will be considering after the PUBG Mobile ban. Just like Garena Free Fire, COD Mobile is based on the Unity game engine. Unlike Garena Free Fire, Call of Duty mobile is not a clone of PUBG or PUBG Mobile. Instead, what Call of duty mobile is offering to the Indian players is pedigree. Call of duty franchise is huge in the European and the North American market and almost all of COD Mobile is based on the previous generation of COD games and on the latest COD Warzone.
COD Mobile has recently had a massive update that changed the game completely from the ground up. The Season 9 update for Call of duty mobile was a massive undertaking done by the devs of the game and they have delivered. Call of Duty Mobile offers a battle royal mode that is quite similar to COD Warzone. There are a ton of multiplayer modes that are miles ahead to anything PUBG Mobile was offering. Sadly, there is only one map available on Call of Duty Mobile in Battle royal mode.
