CD Projekt RED Investors Aren’t Happy
In addition to the recently filed class-action lawsuit against CD Projekt RED regarding the launch of Cyberpunk 2077, now CDPR needs to worry about investors suing them. Manhattan-based Rosen Law Firm has officially filed a suit in California’s Central District on behalf of some CDPR investors that feel scorned by the launch of Cyberpunk 2077. Cyberpunk 2077 is available right now for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Google Stadia, and PC.
The Manhattan-based Rosen Law Firm lawsuit is being filed “on behalf of persons or entities who purchased or otherwise acquired publicly traded CD Projekt Red securities between January 16, 2020, and December 17, 2020.” The lead plaintiff in this case against CD Projekt RED is Andrew Trampe and he’s currently looking for more investors who wish to join the suit.
“Cyberpunk 2077 was virtually unplayable on the current-generation Xbox or Playstation systems due to an enormous number of bugs,” claims the official lawsuit from Rosen Law Firm. “As a result, Sony would remove Cyberpunk 2077 from the Playstation Store, and Sony, Microsoft and CD Projekt would be forced to offer full refunds for the game; consequently, CD Projekt would suffer reputational and pecuniary harm.”
“As a result, defendants’ statements about its business, operations, and prospects, were materially false and misleading and/or lacked a reasonable basis at all relevant times. When the true details entered the market, the lawsuit claims that investors suffered damages.” While a lot of gamers are currently getting their refunds for Cyberpunk 2077, it looks like investors are also looking for a refund for the product that was released not resembling the product that CD Projekt RED pitched to them.
