Oh, It Has Also Starting Filming
Whether you are in the boat of not wanting the Borderlands movie to be made or are willing to give it a chance, production has begun. There is no stopping it now. On the 1st of April, Borderlands star Ariana Greenblatt posted a set photo on Twitter alongside director Eli Roth. The caption reads: “we out here, cameras rolling 🤠 Day 1 💣💣💣 #BorderlandsMovie”. Greenblatt, of course, plays the teenage demolitions expert Tiny Tina. Greenblatt, Roth, and another crew member are seen on set wearing protective facemasks and face shields, exercising COVID-19 prevention guidelines.
Time to look into this way too closely. No other major cast members are seen in this photo, so this might be a scene with just Tina. Earlier today, it was announced that Edgar Ramirez would be playing Deukalian Atlas, the founder and CEO of Atlas Corporation. Though this character was not in any of the games, Atlas Corporation was the main antagonizing force in Borderlands 1. I would also like to point out that the original screenplay for the Borderlands movie had the CEO of Atlas hiring Lilith to find and bring back his daughter Tina from Pandora. That plot seems to deviate from the original game, but let’s see what they do with it.

Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford is and executive producer on the film, so hopefully it will maintain the integrity and some semblance of the games. There is no official release date for the Borderlands movie.
