Toronto-based gaming technology provider Bragg Gaming Group Inc. has named a new chief executive, tapping board member and gaming industry veteran Richard Carter to assume the role starting May 1.
Company founder and interim chief executive Adam Arviv, who recruited Carter to the company, will stay on as chief advisor to the board and CEO.
“We’ve made significant progress in our strategic goals over the past months, and Richard is the ideal person to advance our plans — expanding our current market overseas and aggressively moving into the U.S. market,” said Arviv.
Carter, who joined the board last September, had previously been chief executive of SB Tech, an interactive sports betting company, for five years before agreeing to merge it last April with DraftKings Inc. and Diamond Eagle Acquisition Corp. in a three-way deal valued at $3.3 billion.
Paul Godfrey, founder and chairman of Postmedia Network Canada Corp., which publishes the Financial Post, joined the board of Bragg in January.
Shares of Bragg, which recently made the jump from the TSX Venture to the TSX, closed down a penny at $2.39 in Toronto Thursday.
