This bed-in-a-box mattress comes with a foam core with a memory foam layer. It can be used with an electric blanket.
Using the code FBEASTER41 will get you 41% off the Emma Original mattress at the moment, bringing the cost down from £649 to £382.91.
This is a good deal. The best we’ve seen earlier this year was for 42%, and Emma was offering 35% off in Feb. Plus we spotted a couple of occasions where there’s been a discount of 40% off (Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day), so 41% is good.

Best mobile phone deal
Apple iPhone 12 64GB – £724
- We like: Great camera, Easy to use
- We didn’t like: Battery takes a while to charge
It’s rare to find a discount on an iPhone, especially a recent model such as this. It comes with 5G capability, 64GB of storage and a 6.1” screen.
This deal from Amazon is the current cheapest we could find for a SIM-free version of the iPhone 12.

Best TV deal
LG 43UN80006LC – £379 (reduced by £50)
- We like: Easy to use, great remote
- We didn’t like: Some key apps missing at time of testing
This 43-inch 4K TV has an LCD display. It’s a mid-range model from LG – unlike LG’s higher-end LCDs, it doesn’t come with a NanoCell layer to filter out impure colours.
A £50 price drop at Currys means you can now snap it up for £379.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e – £329
- We like: Compact and portable design, long battery life
- We didn’t like: No headphone jack
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e is a large tablet with a 10.5-inch screen and 64MB of built-in storage. It’s slim, at just 6.6mm, and comes with a facial recognition camera and fingerprint scanner – this makes it easy to unlock as you don’t have to type in a Pin or password.
It’s currently available for a discounted price of £329 – its normal price is £379.

Best headphone deal
Apple AirPods – £119
- We like: Comfortable, easy to use
- We didn’t like: Quite a bit of sound leaks to your surroundings, fairly loose fit
You don’t often come across a huge deal on an Apple product, so we’ll take this £6 saving on the typical major retailer selling price of £125.
AirPods are truly wireless headphones, and are Apple iOS and Android device compatible (some non-essential features are iOS-only). Apple claims they have five hours battery life, with 24 hours total claimed battery life with top-ups from the charging case.

Best laptop deal
Apple MacBook Air 2020 (M1) – £939
- We like: Fast, thin and light
- We didn’t like: Not many ports, expensive upgrades
The super thin Macbook Air is Apple’s most portable laptop, weighing only 1.281kg. It comes with an Apple M1 processor, w8GB Ram and 256GB SSD.
We’ve spotted this £60 drop on the gold version at Currys and John Lewis – it was previously £999 and this is the cheapest way to get a 2020 Mac. If you don’t like that colour, Currys also has £50 off the space grey version and £20 off the silver version, too.
It’s still pricey, compared to rival laptops, so make sure it suits your needs.

- We like: Excellent cottons and synthetic wash, Energy and water efficient
- We didn’t like: High price
This high-end model is typically on sale for around the £900 mark, but at the moment can be had for £36 less.
With its extra-large 10kg capacity drum, it’s among the bigger machines you can buy. It also has Smartphone app remote control and an A+++ energy rating.

Best fridge freezer deal
LG GBB72PZEFN fridge freezer – £689
- We like: Very efficient, quiet, flame-retardant backing
- We didn’t like: Some ease of use niggles
Normally selling for well over £700, this fridge freezer can currently be had for a decent discount.
The fridge contains 213 litres of usable space – enough to hold around 11 supermarket carrier bags of shopping. In the freezer, three transparent plastic drawers provide 75 litres of usable space.

April sales shopping tips

As well as finding you the best deals this April, we’ve also put together a list of the best and worst shops.
We’ve quizzed thousands of Which? members on their experiences of shopping in some of the country’s best-known stores and websites, as well as with lesser-known brands.

Watch out for sneaky tricks
Some retailers use underhand tactics to pressure you into making a purchase.
These include anchor pricing (when products are on sale more often than they aren’t), pressure selling (’30 people are viewing this right now!’) and dubious claims about the ‘before’ price of a product.
If you’re unsure how good a deal is, use a tool such as PriceRunner to compare prices across retailers.
Research customer reviews
It’s always a good idea to read reviews before you buy a product, but not all reviews are trustworthy.
Some sellers incentivise people to post fake positive reviews to drown out genuine negative ones. If you’re in any doubt, check out our expert guide on how to spot a fake review.
Returning goods
Whether you bought a product in-store or online, you still have rights under the Consumer Contract Regulations.
The regulations give you a 14-day window to return a non-faulty product, which begins on the day you receive your goods. Many retailers will give you longer than this, but it is always best to check before you buy.
